Fine letterpress work is crisper than offset litho because of its impression into the paper, giving greater visual definition to the type and artwork.
Letterpress printing is enjoying a revival now – especially in London – as it is so “bespoke” that one impression differs very slightly from the next one.
At Odd Dog design we have recently restored a very rare letterpress (A Peerless 8×5 lever tabletop) dating from c.1890. We use a wide range of unusual papers (up to 1000gsm) with this printing process.
Wedding stationary, business cards, change of address cards, compliments slips birthdays and anniversaries, birth announcements and christening cards; all lend themselves extremely well to this printing process.
